Austria. Where do I start? With day one, I guess. So we left Natalie´s house a little after 8, which for us is pretty early. We made it to the train station and up to the platform before our train arrived which was nice because we didn´t have to worry about missing our train. Once the train pulls in you have about 2 minutes to get all your stuff on and we had the stroller, suitcase, carseat, and my backpack, which doesn´t sound like a lot but it was. We got onto the train in time except Natalie´s mom almost got stuck on the train with us. Now to find us some seats where the baby stroller will fit. Natalie looked for a few minutes and then came to get me (I was still standing at the door with the stroller) Natalie tried to get the stroller through to the seat but it would fit through the door so we had to take the stroller apart, first unhook the basket part then fold up the stroller and move it through the door and then set it back up again. Once that was done Natalie decided to go see where our actual reserved seats were because there was a loud group where we currently were and we didn´t want the baby to wake up (she was sleeping this whole time) So after a few minutes she came back and we moved to our seats which involved taking the stroller apart again and moving it through two train cars and then setting it up. This is the picture of us and our area on the first train.
It took us about 45 minutes to get settled into our seats, which made the time on the first train go by pretty fast. We watched a little bit of a movie and then I read for a while. We had about an hour and a half between trains so we got off and went to eat at burger king. It sounds easy but it was not. The train station we stopped at had NO elevators or escalators which meant we had to take all of our stuff and the stroller down the stairs. I carried all the stuff down and Natalie got someone to help her with the stroller. It wasn´t just a few steps either, it was a whole flight of stairs. Then when we got down to the bottom we had to go back up a flight to get to the main area. So in all we went up and down the stairs 4 times. It was not nice to say the least. Then we got onto the second train where it was quite a bit easier to find a seat. These are a couple of pictures I took out the window.
Once we arrived at our destination we took a taxi to the rental car place, got our rental car, and set out for the apartment we were staying at. We crossed from Germany to Austria and it was only about 20 minutes or so and we were there.

Our apartment was across the bottom
This was my bed for the week, it was actually very comfy.
This is a view from the parking area of our apartment. Yes that is a big pile of manure.
DAY TWO- I really don´t know if I will write about each day like this but for now I will. So we slept until we woke up and headed up the mountain for Oma´s house (Natalie´s grandma- Oma is grandma in german). It took us about 20 minutes to get up there with lots of windy and narrow roads. It was scary sometimes because you can´t see around some of the corners and if a car is coming too quickly there is nowhere to go so you would probably hit them. But no accidents for us. The place her oma lives is an actual farm house. Her uncle lives there with his family too. But they have several levels of the house and you have access to the barn right from the house. It is actually very neat. Here are a few pictures from Natalie´s oma´s porch. This is the field where the cows graze during the day.
This is just the view, you can´t see the other mountains well but they were spectacular.
Oma´s white bench with the pretty window flowers.
We had lunch and I couldn´t wait any longer to go see the animals so Natalie´s cousin Laura took me up. They had 4 baby cows and two big pigs upstairs and downstairs they had older piglets (not too sure how many) and 2 more big pigs as well as chickens.
I was so excited about seeing the babies, but I didn´t realize the piglets weren´t really little. I played with the baby cows and the licked my hand, they were so cute! After I played with the animals a little Natalie and I went for a walk so the baby would fall asleep. Here are a few pictures.
Natalie getting a drink of mountain spring water from this fountain. You could really drink it, I tried it and it didn´t kill me!
To me this is stereotypical cow. But not here, this one is an outcast because all the rest of them are brown. But isn´t it cute? They are actually quite scary when they stop right next to you and stare at you. We didn´t do much after the walk that afternoon, just hung out with Natalie´s family.
This is where I will close this entry but tomorrow I will write more!
